So, to kick off, harmony, from a biological standpoint, is all about discovering that balance where nature's diverse ecosystems interconnect and thrive, keeping the continuity of life and the essence of nature. And from that perspective, we humans are also driven to maintain that righteous equilibrium throughout our lives, both individually and holistically. But what does it mean? According to a study called Harmony in Life Scale,2 it can be extrapolated that harmony flows at both an individually and collectively level, as everything on Earth and nature is intricately interconnected and interdependent. Therefore, it’s no wonder we’re all harmony seekers, chasing that perfect blend of physical and mental balance to stay happy, healthy, and profoundly connected with ourselves and the wholeness.

How to Start Moving the Flow toward Harmony

In his bestselling book, "The Art of Simply Living,” renowned Japanese Buddhist Shunmyo Masuno offers wisdom and invaluable ways to create harmony in life with these tips

 

  • Let go of those unpleasant thoughts before going to bed and don't waste time stressing over things you can't control. Sleep tight and worry-free.

  • Create, create, and create. That could mean a small garden on your balcony. Express your mind, but not in words--paint, write, or dance your heart out! Let your creativity flow.

  • Take a break from overthinking and tune in to your feelings. Embrace the present moment and appreciate even the simplest of days.

  • Believe in yourself, wait for the right opportunity and don’t be afraid to make decisions or to move forward. To achieve this, try to unleash more of your potential, then you’ll see a breakthrough.

  • Plan gatherings with loved ones, spread joy, and remember those who paved the way before you. Cherish the bonds that make life special.

  • Embrace reality, even when it's tough. It’s within our power to decide how to deal with those moments.
